2019 Halloween 100 Year Flood Trail Damage Report

6/26/2020

On Halloween night and through November 1st, a local rain cell produced the largest recorded flood of Natural Stone Bridge and Caves.  Sections of the tour were destroyed in the flood (no flood insurance).  Eight concrete stone stairways, 3 wooden bridges/stairs and countless railings were either destroyed or washed away.

Then came Covid-19 to complicate everything!

However, through a monumental effort by the owners, family and a few employees - most of the tour has been rebuilt.

Thanks also to our local Tri-Lakes Community Association and the Schroon Lake Chamber for providing much needed assistance.

We hope you appreciate these efforts so you can continue to enjoy this magical Adirondack Natural Wonder.
