Suggested Itinerary: Local Yokel
Day 1 Pottersville & Schroon Lake
Start the day at Stone Bridge & Caves, seeing the sights, cracking geodes and feeding the fish before it gets too hot.
After hiking, head toward Schroon Lake and stop at Paradox Brewery for a tasting. On Saturday’s the outdoor makeshift bandstand and bar has live music and our favorite food truck, Good Forkin’ Food. Continue to the village of Schroon Lake and spend a couple hours hanging at the public beach, one of the best in the Adirondacks!
Have dinner at Café Adirondack in the heart of “downtown” Pottersville and return to Stone Bridge Ice Cream Shop for dessert.
Day 2 Chestertown & Brant Lake
Have breakfast at Crossroads Sporting Goods Store and get yourself a fishing license (and an apple fritter for later). Get the details on where to park just up the road and cast a few flies by the dam. When you’re ready for the next meal, pack it in and head to the Lazy Moose Garden Market & Deli just five minutes away in Brant Lake.
Day 3 Lake George / Rain Day
On the occasion we feel like being tourists too, Lake George Village has more than a day’s worth of entertainment: Million Dollar Beach by day followed by go-carting and mini-golf by dark.
On a wet weather day, Lake George has you covered, small and tall. Take the kids to the Fun Spot arcade and roller rink, Great Escape’s Indoor Waterpark, and Dr. Morbid’s Haunted House.
For older folks, bowl at Lake George Lanes & Games. Take aim at Adirondack Gun Range. Then enjoy a misty dinner cruise on one of the Lake George Steamboats.
