In cooperation with the Town of Chester, Natural Stone Bridge & Caves has two trails that qualify as Chester Challenge Hikes!
Complete 6 of the listed trails and receive a pin. Other swag is available for purchase in the gift shop.
Our two different trails provide an Adirondack mountain peak experience with well marked trails and map for either the novice or seasoned hiker. CCTrails have exceptional signage and horizon maps at the summit, pointing out nearby peaks.
- Catamount Trail is a 1.8 mile hike with a 678 foot ascent and was one of 5 shooting locations on our property for Ben Stiller's Showtime miniseries "Escape at Dannemora".
- Green Mountain Trail, the highest of the Chester Challenge Trails, is a 4.6 mile trek with a 1263' ascent. Offering excellent views of the High Peaks!
*These trails reside inside our attraction property are also used as snowshoe trails and are not free.*

Start hike before 1pm and return before closing (4 or 5pm depending upon season).
We recommend getting a Season Pass for return visits to the Caves and doing the two different Chester Challenge Hikes over multiple days
